Haavatavus v\u00f5imaldab juhtida \u00fchenduse loodud ligip\u00e4\u00e4supunktiga ilma parooli teadmiseta, n\u00e4iteks juhul, kui kasutaja annab selges\u00f5naliselt v\u00f5imaluse oma seadmest v\u00f5rku p\u00e4\u00e4seda (Hotspot). Probleem on lahendatud IWD versioonis 2.14.\n<p>Haavatavus tuleneb n\u00f5uetekohase kontrolli puudumisest k\u00f5igi sammude j\u00e4rjekorra \u00fcle neljasammulise kanali lepingu s\u00f5lmimise protsessis, mis kehtib kaitstud traadita v\u00f5rku esmakordsel \u00fchendamisel. Kuna IWD aktsepteerib s\u00f5numeid mis tahes \u00fchendusprotsessi etapis, kontrollimata, kas eelnev etapp on l\u00f5petatud, saab r\u00fcndaja vahele j\u00e4tta teise etapi s\u00f5numi saatmise ning otse edasi saata neljanda etapi s\u00f5numi, saavutades juurdep\u00e4\u00e4su v\u00f5rgule, m\u00f6\u00f6daminnes autentimise kontrollimise etapist.     <\/p>\n<p>Sellega p\u00fc\u00fcab IWD kinnitada MIC (Message Integrity Code) koodi neljanda etapi saadetud s\u00f5numi jaoks. Kuna teise etapi autentimisparameetritega s\u00f5numi ei ole saadud, m\u00e4\u00e4ratakse neljanda etapi s\u00f5numi t\u00f6\u00f6tlemisel PTK (Pairwise Transient Key) v\u00f5ti nulliks. Seet\u00f5ttu saab r\u00fcndaja arvutada MIC-i, kasutades null PTK-d, ja see kontrollkood tunnustatakse IWD poolt \u00f5igeks. P\u00e4rast sellise mittet\u00e4ieliku \u00fchenduse koosk\u00f5lastamise l\u00f5ppu saab r\u00fcndaja t\u00e4ieliku juurdep\u00e4\u00e4su traadita v\u00f5rku, kuna p\u00e4\u00e4supunkt aktsepteerib tema saadetud raame, mis on kr\u00fcpteeritud null PTK v\u00f5tmega.        <\/p>\n<li class=\"l\"> Wpa_supplicant'is tuvastatud probleem (CVE-2023-52160) v\u00f5imaldab r\u00fcndajal meelitada kasutaja vale traadita v\u00f5rku, mis on klooniks v\u00f5rgu jaoks, kuhu kasutaja soovib \u00fchenduda. Kui kasutaja \u00fchendub vale v\u00f5rku, saab r\u00fcndaja korraldada kasutaja kr\u00fcptimata vahetrafiku (nt \u00fchendused HTTPS-ita veebisaitidele) pealtkuulamise.\n<p>PEAP (Protected Extensible Authentication Protocol) protokolli rakendamise puuduste t\u00f5ttu v\u00f5ib r\u00fcndaja saavutada teise autentimisetapi vahelej\u00e4tmise vale seadistusega kasutaja seadme \u00fchendamisel. Teise autentimisetapi vahelej\u00e4tmine v\u00f5imaldab r\u00fcndajal luua usaldusv\u00e4\u00e4rse Wi-Fi v\u00f5rgu vale klooni ja suunata kasutaja valele v\u00f5rku ilma parooli kontrollimata.     <\/p>\n<p>Edukaks r\u00fcnnakuks peab wpa_supplicant'i puhul olema kasutaja poolel kontroll v\u00e4lja l\u00fclitatud. <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/prohoster.info\/et\/ssl-sertifikat\/\"   title=\"TLS-sertifikaat\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"948\">TLS-sertifikaat<\/a> R\u00fcndajal peab olema teadlik traadita v\u00f5rgu identifikaatorist (SSID, Service Set Identifier). Lisaks peab r\u00fcndaja olema ohvri traadita adapteri ulatuses, kuid v\u00e4ljaspool kloonitud traadita v\u00f5rgu juurdep\u00e4\u00e4supunkti ulatust. R\u00fcnnak on v\u00f5imalik WPA2-Enterprise v\u00f5i WPA3-Enterprise v\u00f5rkudes, kus kasutatakse PEAP protokolli.      <\/p>\n<p>wpa_supplicant'i arendajad on kinnitanud, et nad ei pea seda probleemi haavatavuseks, kuna see esineb ainult vale seadistusega traadita v\u00f5rkudes, kus EAP autentimine toimub koos PEAP protokolli (EAP-TTLS) kasutamisega ilma TLS-sertifikaadi kontrollita. <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/prohoster.info\/et\/server\/dts-los-angeles\/\"   title=\"serverile\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"3604\">serverile<\/a>. Sertifika kontrolita vabad konfiguratsioonid ei kaitse aktiivsete r\u00fcnnakute eest. Haavatavuse avastajad v\u00e4idavad, et sellised vale konfiguratsioonid on t\u00fc\u00fcpilised ja laialt levinud, ohustades paljusid tarbija seadmeid, mis t\u00f6\u00f6tavad Linuxi, Androidi ja Chrome OS-i peal, kus kasutatakse wpa_supplicant'i.     <\/p>\n<p>Probleemi lahendamiseks on wpa_supplicantile v\u00e4lja antud plaastr, mis lisab kohustusliku teise autentimisfaasi re\u017eiimi, lisaks TLS-sertifikaadi kontrollile.
