Esimene kandidaat eemaldamiseks on ARMv4 (ilma ARMv4T eemaldamata), iWMMXt, BE32 ja OABI.    <\/p>\n<p>Vanade ARM CPU-de toetuse l\u00f5petamine kohtub GCC-s toetuse l\u00f5petamisega \u2014 osa eemaldamiseks etten\u00e4htud CPU-dest ei toeta juba uued GCC harud, samas kui m\u00f5ned plaanitakse tulevastes v\u00e4ljaannetes eemaldada, mis lihtsustab kompilaatori t\u00e4iendamist ja uute v\u00f5imaluste rakendamist. Arhitektuuri toetuse eemaldamine GCC-st n\u00f5uab selle toetuse eemaldamist ka kernelist, kui GCC minimaalne toetamisseatud versioon t\u00f5stetakse (hetkel n\u00f5uab kernel v\u00e4hemalt GCC 5.1 versiooni).      <\/p>\n<p>Arhitektuurid, kiibid ja laiendused, mille eemaldamine k\u00e4rgist on plaanis:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> ARMv3 \u2014 tugi on juba l\u00f5petatud GCC 9-s.\n<li class=\"l\"> ARMv4 \u2014 kasutatakse veel laialdaselt levinud StrongARM ja FA526 protsessorite jaoks, samas on k\u00f5ige uuemad neist kiipidest v\u00e4lja antud umbes 20 aastat tagasi. ARMv4 toe l\u00f5petamine toimub Debian 5.0-s. Esiteks soovitatakse l\u00f5petada ARMv4 toetamine GCC-s ja paar aastat hiljem ka kernelis.\n<li class=\"l\"> ARMv4T \u2014 levinud on 6 SoC perekonda, millel on ARM720T, ARM920T ja ARM922T tuumad, mis on laiemalt levinud kui ARMv4-p\u00f5hised SoC-d. ARMv4T toe l\u00f5petamine toimub Debian 9.0-s. Kernelis plaanitakse ARMv4T toetuse l\u00f5petamine mitte varem kui ARMv5 toe l\u00f5petamisega.\n<li class=\"l\"> ARMv5 - kasutatakse umbes 1\/3 k\u00f5igist tuumaga toetatud platvormidest, kuid enamus neist platvormidest on oma eluiga l\u00f5petamas. Debian j\u00e4tkab ARMv5 toetamist, kuid FPU ja aatomitehingute puudumise t\u00f5ttu muutub toe s\u00e4ilitamine j\u00e4rjest raskemaks ning t\u00f5en\u00e4oliselt viiakse Debian port ARMv5 jaoks peagi mitteametlikuks.\n<li class=\"l\"> Esimesed ARMv6 p\u00f5lvkonnad - kasutatakse sellistes SoC-des nagu ARM1136r0p (NXP i.MX31) ja OMAP24xx (Nokia N8xx), kuid nende toetamine n\u00f5uab hacke t\u00f6\u00f6tamiseks SMP tuumades.\n<li class=\"l\"> ARMv6K - kasutatakse ARM1176 (Raspberry Pi 1, AST2500) ja ARM1136r1. Tuumas ei ole toetuse l\u00f5petamise takistusi, kuid jaotustes esinevad probleemid, kuna need ei vasta t\u00fc\u00fcpilisele armv7-a+vfpv3-d16 komplektile.\n<li class=\"l\"> ARMv7-M - kasutatakse Cortex-M3\/M4\/M7 mikrojuhtides, mis j\u00e4\u00e4vad viimasteks tuuma toetatavateks kiipideks, millel puudub m\u00e4lu haldamise plokk (MMU). T\u00f6\u00f6tamine tuumadega s\u00fcsteemides, millel pole MMU-d, l\u00f5petati 2017. aastal, kui sellistele kiipidele \u00fclemineku kutsuti esile RTOS-ide, nagu Zephyr, arendamiseks. ARMv7-M toe l\u00f5petamist pakutakse 2027. aastaks, 10 aastat p\u00e4rast arendamise l\u00f5petamist, hoolimata GCC-s j\u00e4tkuvast toetusest.\n<li class=\"l\"> iWMMXt \u2014 ARMv7 PJ4 (MMP2, Berlin) protsessori toe on tuumades juba l\u00f5ppenud, mist\u00f5ttu ei ole enam kodus olevaid s\u00fcsteeme, mis kasutaksid neid juhiseid. Toetamine iWMMXt on Clangis juba l\u00f5petatud ja GCC-s on see eemaldamiseks ette n\u00e4htud.\n<li class=\"l\"> BE32 (big endian ARMv5) \u2014 kasutatakse vaid \u00fches SoC Intel IXP4xx. Vanades Debian versioonides toetati ainult little-endian re\u017eiimi, kuid draiverites on j\u00e4tkuvalt lahendamata probleeme. BE32 toetuse eemaldamine GCC-st ja tuumast on soovitatav, kuna draiverites ei ole viimase mitme aasta jooksul keegi probleemide lahendamisega tegelnud.\n<li class=\"l\"> BE8 (big-endian ARMv7) \u2014 paljudes draiverites esinevad probleemid, testimine on l\u00f5petatud ja ei ole teavet kodus olevate seadmete kohta. BE8 re\u017eiim v\u00f5ib olla huvitav kasutajaruumi komponentide testimiseks big-endian s\u00fcsteemides, seet\u00f5ttu on BE8 toe s\u00e4ilitamine tuumas ja GCC-s plaanitud v\u00e4hemalt veel paariks aastaks, kuni see hakkab probleemide tekitamiseks liikuma.    <\/ul>\n<p>Linuxi tuuma eemaldamiseks ettepanekud:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\">  Param_struct struktuur, mida kasutati enne ATAGS (ARM Tag-Area) \u2014 kuulutati vananenuks juba 2001. aastal, kuid seda kasutatakse endiselt RiscPC ja Footbridge platvormide koodis.\n<li class=\"l\"> ATAGS struktuuri p\u00f5hjal p\u00f5hinevad failid (kasutati konfiguratsiooni teabe edastamiseks enne seadme puu) \u2014 29 faili j\u00e4\u00e4b tuuma, mis on seotud 10 SoC platvormiga, mis kasutavad ATAGS.\n<li class=\"l\"> OABI (vana ABI, vana ABI ARM arhitektuuri jaoks) \u2014 n\u00fc\u00fcd kasutatakse peaaegu igal pool EABI-d (Embedded ABI). OABI on paljude vigade p\u00f5hjus, kuna draiverite arendajad on l\u00f5petanud teatud seotud n\u00fcansside arvesse v\u00f5tmise. Soovitatakse OABI s\u00e4ilitada, kuid keerulisemaks muuta hooletuse t\u00f5ttu.\n<li class=\"l\"> OABI \u00fchilduvusre\u017eiim (OABI_COMPAT) \u2014 v\u00f5imaldab k\u00e4ivitada OABI jaoks koostatud t\u00e4itmisfaile, kasutades EABI-d. Draiverites tekivad eraldi probleemid, mis on seotud ioctl-iga, kuid selle re\u017eiimi haldamise keerukus on oluliselt madalam kui OABI tuumade haldamise tegemine. StrongARM-i toe s\u00e4ilitamiseks on m\u00f5istlik s\u00e4ilitada OABI v\u00f5i OABI_COMPAT tugi.\n<li class=\"l\"> NWFPE (No Floating Point Emulator, ujuhtiv punktita l\u00f5ikepunktide simulaator) \u2014 plaastrid, et neid eemaldada, pakuti v\u00e4lja juba 11 aastat tagasi, kuid NWFPE on vajalik m\u00f5nede kasutajaruumi komponentide t\u00f6\u00f6tamiseks, mis on koostatud OABI jaoks, seega on soovitatav NWFPE tugi s\u00e4ilitada seni, kuni tuumas j\u00e4\u00e4b OABI v\u00f5i OABI_COMPAT tugi.\n<li class=\"l\">  Highmem (kasutatakse m\u00e4lu haldamiseks \u00fcle 1 GB aladel) \u2014 enamik ARM-s\u00fcsteeme v\u00f5ivad t\u00f6\u00f6tada ilma highmem'i sissel\u00fclitamiseta v\u00f5i v\u00f5ivad kasutada CONFIG_VMSPLIT_2GB, et p\u00e4\u00e4seda esimestele 2GB f\u00fc\u00fcsilisest m\u00e4lust. T\u00f6\u00f6d tehakse 4 GB RAM-i juurdep\u00e4\u00e4su organiseerimiseks LPAE (Cortex-A7\/A15) s\u00fcsteemidel, p\u00e4rast mida v\u00f5ib Highmem'i toetus eemaldada.\n<li class=\"l\"> Sparsemem \u2014 vajalik s\u00fcsteemidele, mis vajavad highmem'i.    <\/ul>\n<p>Eemaldamiseks soovitatud platvormid:    <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> RiscPC \u2014 vanim tuumaga toetatud platvorm. Ei toetata GCC-s alates 9.x harust, kuna ARMv3 toe eemaldamine. Saatja j\u00e4tkab tuuma t\u00f6\u00f6tamise testimist sellel platvormil, kuid tundub, et reaalseid kasutajaid enam ei ole, seega v\u00f5ib tugi katkeda, kui saatjal huvi kaob.\n<li class=\"l\"> SA1100, Footbridge \u2014 vana platvorm, mille s\u00e4ilitamine p\u00f5hineb vaid nostalgiatel. Peaaegu k\u00f5ik failid, mis sisaldavad kirjeldusi nende platvormide kohta, on versioonis 6.3 eemaldatud, j\u00e4\u00e4nud on ainult toetus seadmetele ipaq h3600, assabet, netwinder ja ebsa285. Eemaldamise otsus s\u00f5ltub hooldaja plaanidest.\n<li class=\"l\">  Gemini, Moxart \u2014 kasutavad ARMv4 arhitektuuril p\u00f5hinevat CPU-d. Kiibid, mis on toodetud \u00fcle 20 aasta tagasi, ei vaja nende hooldamiseks erilisi pingutusi, seega pole m\u00f5tet neid eemaldada enne StrongARM platvormi eemaldamist.\n<li class=\"l\"> Failid PXA toe jaoks \u2014 platvormid on mahaj\u00e4etud ja on kasutusest v\u00e4lja langenud; kui huvi nende vastu ei taastu, plaanitakse need 2025. aasta alguses eemaldada.\n<li class=\"l\"> OMAP1 \u2014 \u00fchelt poolt j\u00e4\u00e4b see ainukeseks ARMv4T\/ARMv5 platvormiks, millel puudub Device Tree tugi, ja ei ole n\u00e4htud mingeid liikumisi Device Tree-le \u00fcleminekul, kuid teisalt on platvormil j\u00e4tkuvalt kasutajad.\n<li class=\"l\"> Nspire, AT91RM9200, CLPS711X, EP93xx, iMX1 \u2014 kasutavad ARMv4T arhitektuuril p\u00f5hinevat CPU-d. Toetuse s\u00e4ilitamine s\u00f5ltub arm1136r0 CPU toetuse s\u00e4ilitamisest.\n<li class=\"l\"> iMX31 \u2014 puuduvad andmed aktiivsete kasutajate olemasolu kohta, kuid pole m\u00f5tet seda varem eemaldada kui OMAP2.\n<li class=\"l\"> S3C64xx (Cragganmore) \u2014 ainus platvorm, millel ei ole Device Tree tuge ja mis on \u00fcles ehitatud ARMv6K-l. Platvormi kasutatakse endiselt heli koodekite testimiseks, seega on eemaldamine edasi l\u00fckatud, kuni testimine viiakse \u00fcle teisele plaadile.\n<li class=\"l\"> Orion5x, mv78xx0 \u2014 eemaldamise k\u00fcsimust plaanitakse arutada j\u00e4rgmisel aastal.\n<li class=\"l\"> iMX35, WM8750, AST2500, BCM2835 \u2014 on h\u00e4sti toetatud ja neil on aktiivsed kasutajad, eemaldamine ei ole praegu plaanis.\n<li class=\"l\"> stm32f4\/f7\/h7 \u2014 mikrokontrollerid ilma MMU-ta, tuumas j\u00e4tkub toimetamine ja aktiivsed kasutajad on olemas.
