Esimene standardiseeritud algoritm (CRYSTALS-Kyber) m\u00e4\u00e4ratleb v\u00f5tmete kapseldamise viisi ja on ette n\u00e4htud andmevahetuse kr\u00fcptimiseks, samas kui kaks teist (CRYSTALS-Dilithium ja Sphincs+) rakendavad digitaalse allkirja loomise variatsioone, mida saab kasutada autentimise \u00fclesannete lahendamiseks. Segaduse v\u00e4ltimiseks on standardiseeritud algoritmid \u00fcmber nimetatud: CRYSTALS-Kyber muutus ML-KEM-iks, CRYSTALS-Dilithium muutus ML-DSA-ks ja Sphincs+ muutus SLH-DSA-ks. Valitud algoritme arendatakse alates 2016. aastast ja need on varasemate NIST-i post-kvantkryptoalgoritmide v\u00e4ljat\u00f6\u00f6tamise konkursi v\u00f5itjad.      <\/p>\n<p>Viimastel aegadel kiiresti arenevad kvantarvutid lahendavad oluliselt kiiremini loomulike arvude jagamise peamisteks teguriteks (RSA) ja diskreetse logaritmimise \u00fclesandeid elliptilise k\u00f5vera punktides (ECDSA), mis on t\u00e4nap\u00e4evaste as\u00fcmmeetriliste v\u00f5tme-p\u00f5histe kr\u00fcpteerimisalgoritmide alus, mida traditsioonilistel protsessoritel t\u00f5husalt lahendada ei \u00f5nnestu. Sphincs+ j\u00e4\u00e4b CRYSTALS-Dilithiumile alla allkirjade suuruse ja t\u00f6\u00f6kiiruselt, kuid p\u00f5hineb t\u00e4iesti erinevatel matemaatilistel printsiipidel, st j\u00e4\u00e4b efektiivseks juhtudel, kui v\u00f5rgu teooria meetodid on ohustatud.     <\/ul>\n<p>Lisaks plaanitakse aasta l\u00f5puks kinnitada neljas standard \u2014 FIPS 206, mis on m\u00f5eldud digitaalsete allkirjadega t\u00f6\u00f6tamiseks ja mis p\u00f5hineb algoritmil FALCON, mis, nagu algoritmid CRYSTALS-Kyber ja CRYSTALS-Dilithium, p\u00f5hineb v\u00f5rgu teooria probleemide lahendamisel, kuid erinevalt neist on suunatud rakendustele, mis n\u00f5uavad minimaalse suurusega allkirju.
