OpenSSL 3.6 kuulub tavalise toetuse perioodi alla, mille jooksul v\u00e4ljastatakse uuendusi 13 kuu jooksul. Eelmiste versioonide OpenSSL 3.5 LTS, 3.4, 3.3, 3.2 ja 3.0 LTS toetus kestab kuni vastavalt aprill 2030, oktoober 2026, april 2026, november 2025 ja september 2026. Projekti kood jagatakse Apache 2.0 litsentsi alusel.     <\/p>\n<p>Peamised uuendused:   <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Lisatud on EVP_SKEY (s\u00fcmeetriline v\u00f5tme) struktuuri tugi, et esitada s\u00fcmeetrilisi v\u00f5tmeid l\u00e4bipaistmatute (opaque) objektidena. Erinevalt toorv\u00f5tmetest, mis on esitatud baitide massiivina, abstraktsioonib EVP_SKEY v\u00f5tme struktuur ja sisaldab lisameetmeid. EVP_SKEY kasutamine on lubatud kr\u00fcpteerimise, v\u00f5tmevahetuse ja v\u00f5tme genereerimise (KDF) funktsioonides. Turbe tase kajastab kvantarvutite suhtes vastupidavust ja v\u00f5ib v\u00f5tta t\u00e4isarve vahemikus 0 kuni 5:\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> 0 &#8212; rakendus, mis ei ole kvantarvutitele vastupidav;\n<li class=\"l\">  1\/3\/5 &#8212; rakendus ei v\u00e4lista v\u00f5tme otsimist kvantarvutis 128\/192\/256-bitise plokiahelaga;\n<li class=\"l\">  2\/4 &#8212; rakendus ei v\u00e4lista kolisioonide otsimist kvantarvutis 256\/384-bitise r\u00e4si puhul).   <\/ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Lisatud k\u00e4sk &#171;openssl configutl&#187; konfiguratsioonifaili t\u00f6\u00f6tlemiseks. Utiliit v\u00f5imaldab luua mitme faili konfiguratsiooni p\u00f5hjal, millel on include-killud, kokkuv\u00f5tlik fail koos k\u00f5igi seadistustega.\n<li class=\"l\"> Kr\u00fcptopakkuja FIPS sai toe ECDSA digitaalsete allkirjade m\u00e4\u00e4ratletud genereerimisele (sama sisendi korral genereeritakse sama allkiri), vastavalt FIPS 186-5 standardi n\u00f5uetele.\n<li class=\"l\"> T\u00f5stetud n\u00f5uded kogumise keskkonnale. OpenSSL-i kogumiseks ei piisa enam ANSI-C toe omamisest ning n\u00f5utakse C-99 standardiga \u00fchilduvat kompilaatorit.\n<li class=\"l\"> Avaldatud on aegunuks tunnistatud funktsioonid, mis on seotud EVP_PKEY_ASN1_METHOD struktuuriga.\n<li class=\"l\"> Platvormi VxWorks toetus l\u00f5petatud.                  <\/ul>\n<p>Parandatud haavatavused:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> CVE-2025-9230 &#8212; haavatavus CMS-s\u00f5numite dekodeerimise koodis, mis on kr\u00fcpteeritud parooliga (PWRI). Haavatavus v\u00f5ib viia andmete kirjutamise ja lugemise v\u00e4lja eraldatud puust, v\u00f5imaldades rakenduse, mis kasutab OpenSSL-i CMS-s\u00f5numite t\u00f6\u00f6tlemiseks, avariilist l\u00f5petamist v\u00f5i m\u00e4lu kahjustamist. Haavatavuse \u00e4rakasutamine koodide k\u00e4ivitamiseks ei ole v\u00e4listatud, kuid probleemi oht on v\u00e4iksem, kuna CMS-s\u00f5numite kr\u00fcpteerimine parooliga on praktikas harva kasutatav. Lisaks OpenSSL 3.6.0 versioonile on haavatavus k\u00f5rvaldatud OpenSSL 3.5.4, 3.4.3, 3.3.5, 3.2.6 ja 3.0.18 v\u00e4ljaannetes.
