MyLibrary 4.2.1 home library cataloguer has been released. The program code is written in C++ and is available (GitHub, GitFlic) under the GPLv3 license. The user interface is implemented using the GTK4 library. The program is adapted for operation in Linux and Windows operating systems. For Arch Linux users, a ready-made package build script is available in AUR. For Windows users, an experimental installer is available. <\/p>\n

MyLibrary catalogs book files in fb2, epub, pdf, djvu, odt, txt, md formats, both available directly and packed in archives (zip, 7z, jar, cpio, iso, tar, tar.gz, tar.bz2, tar.xz, rar), and creates its own database without altering the original files or changing their locations. The fbd format is also available for cataloguing (a book file packed in an archive along with a file with an fbd extension containing a description tag in the fb2 format). Any files can be stored in the fbd format, not just books. Collection integrity and its changes are monitored by creating a hash database of files and archives. <\/p>\n

Various operations are possible with the collection: updating (the entire collection is checked and the hashes of available files are verified), quick update (without recalculating the hashes), exporting and importing the collection database, adding books to the collection and removing books from the collection, adding folders containing books to the collection, adding archives containing books to the collection (including packing books and\/or folders during the addition process), copying collection books to any folder, moving books from one collection to another. Manual editing of book records in the database is available. A bookmarks feature has been created for quick access to books. There is an option to create user notes for books. Optionally, an interface for creating and connecting plugins is available. Documentation for the MLBookProc and MLPluginIfc libraries (which are part of the project) can be opened if created during the build process. <\/p>\n
