Samuti avaldati stabiliseeritud versioon referentsformaalsest CHERIoT ISA mudelist, mis on m\u00e4\u00e4ratletud Sail keeles. Projekti arendused levivad BSD litsentsi alusel.      <\/p>\n<p>CHERIoT projekt loodi Microsofti poolt, et lahendada olemasoleva C ja C++ koodi turvaprobleeme ning kaitsta sarnast koodi ilma selle \u00fcmbertegemiseta. Kaitse rakendatakse muudetud kompilaatori kasutamise kaudu, mis kasutab laiendatud protsessorite k\u00e4su komplekti (ISA) pointerite terviklikkuse tagamiseks, m\u00e4lu piiride kontrollimiseks ja vabastatud m\u00e4lule juurdep\u00e4\u00e4su v\u00e4ltimiseks. 2023. aastal avati CHERIoTi arendused ja need muudetakse \u00fchisteks projektiks, kuhu liitusid ka teised ettev\u00f5tted.     <\/p>\n<p>CHERIoT-i riistvara komponendid on kujundatud RISC-V arhitektuuri baasil mikrokontrollerina, mis rakendab CHERI (Capability Hardware Extension to RISC-V) kaitstud protsessori arhitektuuri koos m\u00e4lule juurdep\u00e4\u00e4su haldamise mudeliga, mis p\u00f5hineb \"capability\" (igal m\u00e4lus lugemise ja kirjutamise operatsioonil on volitused). CHERIoT-i arhitektuuri p\u00f5hjal on loodud k\u00e4skude kogum (ISA), mis tagab m\u00e4luga t\u00f6\u00f6tamise ohutuse individuaalsete objektide tasandil, pakkudes kaitset vabastatud m\u00e4lu juurde p\u00e4\u00e4semise eest ja rakendades kergekaalulist m\u00e4lu juurdep\u00e4\u00e4su isoleerimise s\u00fcsteemi.     <\/p>\n<p>M\u00e4\u00e4ratletud kaitsemudel peegeldub otse C\/C++ keelemudelis, mis v\u00f5imaldab seda rakendada olemasolevates rakendustes, mille kaitsmiseks on vajalik ainult \u00fcmberkompileerimine ja t\u00f6\u00f6tlemine seadmetel, mis toetavad CHERIoTi ISA-d. N\u00e4iteks v\u00f5imaldab CHERIoTi rakendamine automaatse piiride kontrollimise, m\u00e4lupiirkondade eluts\u00fckli j\u00e4lgimise ja pointerite terviklikkuse tagamise teostada usaldusv\u00e4\u00e4rsete andmete t\u00f6\u00f6tlemise komponentides ilma koodi muutmata.      <\/p>\n<p>CHERIoTi abil blokeeritavad probleemid:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> M\u00e4luobjekti piirest v\u00e4ljumine;\n<li class=\"l\"> Viidete asendamine (CHERIoT'i kasutamisel peavad k\u00f5ik viidendid olema loodud juba olemasolevatest viidetest);\n<li class=\"l\"> M\u00e4lu kasutamine p\u00e4rast vabastamist (iga juurdep\u00e4\u00e4s m\u00e4lule vale viidendi v\u00f5i viidendi kaudu, mis viitab vabastatud objektile, p\u00f5hjustab CHERIoT'i kasutamisel erandi genereerimise).  <\/ul>\n<p>Peale spetsifikatsiooni ja formaalse mudeli arendab projekt 32-bitise RISC-V CPU Ibex etalonrealiseerimist koos ISA CHERIoT toega ning muudetud LLVM t\u00f6\u00f6riistakomplekti. CPU protot\u00fc\u00fcpide skeemid ja riistvara blokki kirjeldavad Verilog keeles levitatakse Apache 2.0 litsentsi alusel. CPU aluseks on Ibex tuum lowRISC projektist. CHERIoT Ibex alusel valmistatakse massitootmiseks ICENI kiipe, mille m\u00fc\u00fck on planeeritud j\u00e4rgmiseks aastaks. Eraldi arendab Microsoft mikroprotsessorit Kudu, millel on ISA CHERIoT tugi. Ibex ja Kudu toetavad t\u00e4ielikult CHERIoT 1.0 spetsifikatsiooni. T\u00f6\u00f6deldakse CHERI laienduste standardiseerimist RISC-V protsessorite jaoks RISC-V International organisatsioonis.      <\/p>\n<p>Arendatakse lisaks FPGA-p\u00f5hist platvormi emulaatorit ja Docker-konteinerit arendajatele, milles on eelinstallitud t\u00f6\u00f6riistakomplekt ja CPU Ibex simulaator, mis on rakendatud Verilatori abil. Lisaks on CHERIoT'i alusel ette valmistatud CHERIoT RTOS reaalajas operatsioonis\u00fcsteemi protot\u00fc\u00fcp, mis v\u00f5imaldab isolatsiooni kompartmentide (compartment) loomist isegi 256 MB RAM-iga sisend s\u00fcsteemides. CHERIoT RTOS kood on kirjutatud C++ keeles ja levitatakse MIT litsentsi alusel. Operatsioonis\u00fcsteemi p\u00f5hikomponendid, nagu laadija, \u00fclesande planeerija ja m\u00e4lu haldamise s\u00fcsteem, on vormistatud kompartmentidena.     <\/p>\n<p>Kompartement CHERIoT RTOS-is on isoleeritud koodide ja globaalsete muutujate kombinatsioon, mis meenutab jagatud teeki, kuid erinevalt viimasest v\u00f5ib see muuta oma olekut (mutable) ja k\u00e4ivituda eraldi turvakontekstis. \u00dckski v\u00e4line kood ei saa suunata juhtimist kompartemendis oleva koodi poole ega p\u00e4\u00e4seda objektidele juurde, v\u00e4lja arvatud spetsiaalselt m\u00e4\u00e4ratud sisenemispunktide kaudu ning objektide pointerite kasutamisega, mis on selgelt edastatud teise kompartemendi v\u00e4ljakutsumise k\u00e4igus.
