Haavatavusi \u00fchendatakse koodnimega Dragonblood ja need v\u00f5imaldavad kompromiteerida Dragonfly \u00fchenduse leppimise meetodit, mis pakub kaitset paroolide proovimise eest offline-re\u017eiimis. Lisaks WPA3-le kasutatakse Dragonfly meetodit ka s\u00f5nastiku proovimise kaitsmiseks EAP-pwd protokollis, mida kasutatakse Androidis, RADIUS-serverites ja hostapd\/wpa_supplicantis.<\/p>\n<p>Uuringu k\u00e4igus avastati kaks peamist arhitektuuriprobleemi WPA3-s. M\u00f5lemat t\u00fc\u00fcpi probleemide t\u00f5ttu on v\u00f5imalik taastada juurdep\u00e4\u00e4s paroolile. Esimene t\u00fc\u00fcp v\u00f5imaldab tagasiviimist ebausaldusv\u00e4\u00e4rsetele kr\u00fcptograafilistele meetoditele (downgrade attack): WPA2-ga \u00fchilduvuse tagamiseks (\u00fclemineku re\u017eiim, mis lubab kasutada nii WPA2 kui ka WPA3) v\u00f5ib r\u00fcndaja sundida klienti l\u00e4bi viima WPA2 neljaastmelise \u00fchenduse lepinguprotsessi, mis omakorda v\u00f5imaldab klassikalisi paroolide proovimise r\u00fcnnakuid, mis on rakendatavad WPA2 puhul. Lisaks tuvastati ka v\u00f5imalus teostada downgrade-r\u00fcnnak otse Dragonfly \u00fchenduse lepingumeetodi suhtes, mis v\u00f5imaldab tagasiviimist v\u00e4hem turvalistele ellipsik\u00f5verate t\u00fc\u00fcpidele.<\/p>\n<p>Teine probleemide t\u00fc\u00fcp viib parooli omaduste teabe lekkimiseni k\u00f5rvalkanalite kaudu ja p\u00f5hineb Dragonfly parooli kodeerimismeetodi puudustel, mis v\u00f5imaldavad kaudselt, nagu tegevuste viivituste muutumine, taastada algse parooli. Dragonflys rakendatud hash-to-curve algoritm osutus haavatavaks s\u00fcsteemi m\u00e4lus teabe j\u00e4lgimise r\u00fcnnakute suhtes (cache attack), samas kui hash-to-group algoritm on haavatav operatsioonide ajakava m\u00f5\u00f5tmise r\u00fcnnakute suhtes (timing attack).<\/p>\n<p> R\u00fcnde anal\u00fc\u00fcsimise kaudu r\u00fcnnakute tegemiseks peab r\u00fcndaja saama t\u00e4ita mitteprivileegitud koodi kasutaja s\u00fcsteemis, kes \u00fchendub traadita v\u00f5rku. M\u00f5lemad meetodid aitavad saada vajalikku teavet, et selgitada v\u00e4lja parooliosade \u00f5ige valiku t\u00e4psus parooli purustamise protsessis. R\u00fcnnaku efektiivsus on piisavalt k\u00f5rge, et lasta 8-m\u00e4rgilist parooli, mis sisaldab v\u00e4iket\u00e4hti, v\u00e4lja valida vaid 40 \u00fchenduse lepingusessiooni (handshake) pealtkuulates ning kulutades ressursse, mis on v\u00f5rdsed Amazon EC2 v\u00f5imsuste rentimisega 125 dollari eest. <\/p>\n<p>Tuvastatud haavatavuste p\u00f5hjal on v\u00e4lja pakutud mitmeid r\u00fcnnakustsenaariume:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> R\u00fcnnak WPA2-tagasiulatuva re\u017eiimi kaudu koos s\u00f5nastiku r\u00fcnnaku v\u00f5imalusega. Tingimustes, kus nii klient kui ka juurdep\u00e4\u00e4supunkt toetavad nii WPA3 kui ka WPA2, v\u00f5ib r\u00fcndaja seadistada oma vale juurdep\u00e4\u00e4supunkti sama v\u00f5rgu nimega, mis toetab ainult WPA2. Sellises olukorras j\u00e4tkab klient WPA2-le iseloomulikku \u00fchenduse lepingumenetlust, mille k\u00e4igus m\u00e4\u00e4ratakse kindlaks selle t\u00fc\u00fcpi tagasiulatumise lubamatust, kuid see toimub etapis, kus \u00fchenduse lepingus\u00f5numid on juba saadetud ja k\u00f5ik vajalikud s\u00f5nastiku r\u00fcnnaku teave on juba lekkinud. Sarnast meetodit saab kasutada ka probleemsete elliptiliste k\u00f5verate SAE tagasiulatumiseks.\n<p>Lisaks leiti, et iwd demon, mille arendab Intel wpa_supplicantile alternatiivina, ja Samsung Galaxy S10 traadita aknad on altti allavajumise r\u00fcnnaku vastu isegi v\u00f5rkudes, mis kasutavad ainult WPA3 - kui need seadmed on varem \u00fchendatud WPA3 v\u00f5rguga, proovivad nad \u00fchendada v\u00f5ltsitud WPA2 v\u00f5rguga sama nimega.<\/p>\n<li class=\"l\"> R\u00fcnnak k\u00f5rvaliste kanalite kaudu, mis hangib andmeid protsessori vahem\u00e4lust. Paroolide kodeerimise algoritm Dragonfly sisaldab tingimuslikku haru ning r\u00fcndaja, omades v\u00f5imalust k\u00e4ivitada koodi kasutaja s\u00fcsteemis juhtmevaba v\u00f5rgu kaudu, suudab anal\u00fc\u00fcsida vahem\u00e4lu k\u00e4itumist, et m\u00e4\u00e4ratleda, milline bloc if-then-else v\u00e4ljendist on valitud. Saadud teavet saab kasutada parooli j\u00e4rkj\u00e4rguliseks saavutamiseks, rakendades meetodeid, mis sarnanevad offline paroolide s\u00f5nastiku r\u00fcnnakutele WPA2. Kaitseks soovitatakse minna \u00fcle pideva t\u00e4itmise t\u00f6\u00f6tlusoperatsioonide kasutamisele, mis ei s\u00f5ltu t\u00f6\u00f6deldud andmete iseloomust;\n<li class=\"l\"> R\u00fcnnak k\u00f5rvaliste kanalite kaudu, hinnates operatsioonide t\u00e4itmise aega. Dragonfly koodis paroolide kodeerimisel kasutatakse mitmeid multiplikatiivseid gruppe (MODP) ja muutuva arvu iteratsioone, mille hulk s\u00f5ltub kasutatud paroolist ja p\u00e4\u00e4supunkti v\u00f5i kliendi MAC-aadressist. Kaug-r\u00fcndaja suudab m\u00e4\u00e4rata, kui palju iteratsioone on parooli kodeerimise ajal teostatud ja kasutada neid n\u00e4itena j\u00e4rkj\u00e4rgulisel parooli saavutamisel.\n<li class=\"l\"> Teenuse keelamise r\u00fcnnak. R\u00fcndaja v\u00f5ib blokeerida teatud funktsioonide toimimise p\u00e4\u00e4supunktis, kasutades ressursside ammendamist, saates suures koguses kanali \u00fchenduse n\u00f5udmisi. Kahte \u0648\u06d0\u062fhecimento  haavatavuste kasutamise juhtumit pole siiani registreeritud. Wi-Fi Alliance on tugevdanud kaitset ja lisanud sertifitseerimisprogrammi t\u00e4iendavad testid rakenduste \u00f5igsuse kontrollimiseks, samuti on nad kontakteerunud seadme tootjatega probleemide \u00fchiseks lahendamiseks. Probleemide lahendamise plaastrid on juba v\u00e4lja antud hostap\/wpa_supplicant jaoks. Ubuntu jaoks on paketi uuendused saadaval.
