Just shared through the community mailing lists<\/a> an announcement regarding public availability<\/a> of the first builds for inexpensive single-board computers Raspberry<\/a> Pi 4<\/a> based on the open-source software repository Sisyphus<\/a>. Eesliide regular<\/i><\/a> in the name of the build indicates that it will now be produced on a regular basis according to the current state of the repository. In fact, prototypes were recently showcased to the public at the OSSDEVCON-2019 conference<\/a> Kalugas. The author had the opportunity to personally verify that the performance of the desktop on the RPi4 already meets the assessment of \"quite comfortable.\" Moreover, it was pleasantly surprising to find that the single-board computer does not overheat even without active cooling or radiators \u2014 the chips felt warm, but not hot. It is evident that for more serious tasks, quality power supply and cooling will still be necessary; nevertheless, the result is still impressive.<\/p>\n

Sisyphus-based builds as well as the stable<\/a> p9 branch<\/a> (the architecture of the higher models of RPi is designated as aarch64) are already working on Raspberry Pi 3 B and B+ models, respectively, according to their hardware capabilities. Installation and launch instructions are also publicly available<\/a>. We are eagerly awaiting the start of building official distributions for RPi4 from the Alt family.<\/p>\n
