Idee tekkis p\u00e4rast vaidlust Git'i sisemise struktuuri keerukuse \u00fcle, mille j\u00e4rel Drew otsustas oma t\u00f5endeid demonstreerida, kirjutades p\u00e4eva jooksul t\u00f6\u00f6tava versiooni Git'ist puhtas Shellis. T\u00f6\u00f6 k\u00e4igus m\u00f5istis Drew, et ta oli natuke liiga optimistlik oma lihtsuse v\u00e4idetes, kuna Git kasutab binaarset indeksiformaati, mida Shell ei toeta v\u00e4ga h\u00e4sti. Lisaks POSIX Shellis m\u00e4\u00e4ratletud konstruktsioonidele on koodis kasutatud mitmeid GNU laiendusi, mis t\u00f6\u00f6tavad BusyBoxis. T\u00f6\u00f6ks on vajalik ka zlib teegi olemasolu. Valmistatud funktsionaalsus on piisav git-repositooriumisse commit'i tegemiseks.
