IWD saa kasutada nii eraldiseisvana kui ka tagap\u00f5hjana v\u00f5rgukonfiguratsioonide nagu Network Manager ja ConnMan jaoks. Projekt sobib integreeritud seadmete kasutamiseks ja on optimeeritud madalaks m\u00e4lu ja kettaruumi tarbimiseks. IWD ei kasuta v\u00e4liseid raamatukogusid ning tugineb ainult Linuxi tuuma pakutavatele v\u00f5imalustele (Linuxi tuum ja Glibc on t\u00f6\u00f6ks vajalikud). Projekti hulka kuulub oma DHCP kliendi ja kogum <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/git.kernel.org\/pub\/scm\/network\/wireless\/iwd.git\/tree\/src\/crypto.h\">kr\u00fcptograafilisi funktsioone<\/a><\/noindex>. Projekti kood on kirjutatud C keeles ja <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/git.kernel.org\/pub\/scm\/network\/wireless\/iwd.git\/tree\/\">toimetatakse<\/a><\/noindex> kergendus LGPLv2.1<\/p>\n<p>Uues <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/git.kernel.org\/pub\/scm\/network\/wireless\/iwd.git\/tree\/ChangeLog\">uus v\u00e4ljalase<\/a><\/noindex> lisatud toetus MAC-aadresside juhuslikule genereerimisele ja \u00fclekirjutamisele, samuti erinevate fikseeritud MAC-aadresside m\u00e4\u00e4ramisele, mis on seotud teatud traadita v\u00f5rkudega. Erakordsete MAC-aadresside m\u00e4\u00e4ramine erinevatesse traadita v\u00f5rkudesse takistab kasutaja liikumise j\u00e4lgimist WiFi-v\u00f5rkude vahel.
