IWD-d saab kasutada iseseisvalt v\u00f5i taustteenusena selliste v\u00f5rgukonfiguratooride nagu Network Manager ja ConnMan jaoks. Projekt sobib kasutamiseks sisseehitatud seadmetes ja on optimeeritud madalaks m\u00e4lutarbimiseks ja kettaruumiks. IWD ei kasuta v\u00e4liseid teeke ning toetub vaid Linuxi p\u00f5hit\u00f5dedele (Linuxi kernel ja Glibc on vajalikud). Komplektil on oma DHCP-kliendi teostus ja kogum <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/git.kernel.org\/pub\/scm\/network\/wireless\/iwd.git\/tree\/src\/crypto.h\">kr\u00fcptograafilisi funktsioone<\/a><\/noindex>. Koodi projekt on kirjutatud C keeles ja <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/git.kernel.org\/pub\/scm\/network\/wireless\/iwd.git\/tree\/\">on saadaval<\/a><\/noindex> LGPLv2.1 litsentsi all.<\/p>\n<p>V <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/git.kernel.org\/pub\/scm\/network\/wireless\/iwd.git\/tree\/ChangeLog\">uus v\u00e4ljaanne<\/a><\/noindex> lisatud on MAC-aadresside randomiseerimise ja \u00fclekatte toetamine, samuti erinevate fikseeritud MAC-aadresside seadmine, mis on seotud kindlate traadita v\u00f5rkudega. Erinevate MAC-aadresside m\u00e4\u00e4ramine erinevatesse traadita v\u00f5rkudesse muudab kasutaja j\u00e4lgimise WiFi-v\u00f5rkude vahel v\u00f5imatuks.
