Xiaomi Mi Box S, een Android-tv-ontvanger, werd al in het vierde kwartaal van 2018 gepresenteerd. Het apparaat kreeg een vernieuwd ontwerp en een nieuwe afstandsbediening, hoewel de interne hardware hetzelfde bleef als die van zijn voorganger. In de nieuwe software is een fout verholpen waardoor de Chromecast-functie mogelijk niet werkte, is bevriezing tijdens het afspelen van content in sommige applicaties opgelost, is een decoderingfout van H.264 verholpen, is desynchronisatie van audio en video aangepakt wanneer audio wordt afgespeeld op Bluetooth-apparaten, en is er een probleem met HDMI-compatibiliteit opgelost, naast vele andere fouten van vorige softwareversies.<\/p>\n

Helaas kan de firmware niet worden ge\u00efnstalleerd op de originele Xiaomi Mi Box, hoewel beide apparaten dezelfde hardwareplatform hebben.<\/p>\n
