Une nouvelle version de la biblioth\u00e8que Python plotly.py 5.0 est disponible, offrant des outils pour la visualisation de donn\u00e9es et divers types de statistiques. Pour le rendu, la biblioth\u00e8que plotly.js est utilis\u00e9e, supportant plus de 30 types de graphiques, diagrammes et cartes 2D et 3D (le r\u00e9sultat \u00e9tant sauvegard\u00e9 sous forme d'image ou de fichier HTML pour affichage interactif dans le navigateur). Le code de plotly.py est distribu\u00e9 sous la licence MIT.

Dans cette nouvelle version, le support de Python 2.7 et Python 3.5 a \u00e9t\u00e9 supprim\u00e9, et un minimum de Python 3.6 est maintenant requis. Des modifications incompatibles ont \u00e9t\u00e9 apport\u00e9es, notamment la suppression d'un grand nombre de fonctionnalit\u00e9s obsol\u00e8tes, des valeurs par d\u00e9faut modifi\u00e9es et l'arr\u00eat du support des navigateurs Internet Explorer 9\/10. La biblioth\u00e8que Plotly.js a \u00e9t\u00e9 mise \u00e0 jour de la version 1.58.4 \u00e0 2.1. Un nouveau compl\u00e9ment pour l'int\u00e9gration avec JupyterLab a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9. La performance lors de la s\u00e9rialisation des donn\u00e9es au format JSON a \u00e9t\u00e9 augment\u00e9e de 5 \u00e0 10 fois. La possibilit\u00e9 de remplir des graphiques en barres avec des textures a \u00e9t\u00e9 ajout\u00e9e, et un nouveau type de graphique a \u00e9t\u00e9 propos\u00e9 : le \u00ab icicle \u00bb, une alternative rectangulaire aux graphiques circulaires pour une \u00e9valuation visuelle des diff\u00e9rences de taille des valeurs.
