Avec le soutien de l'organisation FreeBSD Foundation, un nouvel installateur est en d\u00e9veloppement pour FreeBSD. Contrairement \u00e0 l'installateur bsdinstall actuellement utilis\u00e9, celui-ci pourra fonctionner en mode graphique et sera plus compr\u00e9hensible pour les utilisateurs ordinaires. Actuellement, le nouvel installateur est en phase de prototype exp\u00e9rimental, mais il peut d\u00e9j\u00e0 effectuer des op\u00e9rations de base pour l'installation. Un image ISO est disponible pour ceux qui souhaitent participer aux tests, capable de fonctionner en mode Live. <\/p>\n

L'installateur est \u00e9crit en Lua et se pr\u00e9sente sous la forme d'un serveur HTTP offrant une interface web. L'image d'installation est un syst\u00e8me Live, dans lequel un environnement de travail avec un navigateur web lance l'interface web de l'installateur en mode fen\u00eatr\u00e9. Le processus serveur de l'installateur et le navigateur sont lanc\u00e9s sur le support d'installation, servant de backend et de frontend. De plus, il est possible de g\u00e9rer l'installation depuis un h\u00f4te externe. <\/p>\n

Le projet se d\u00e9veloppe en utilisant une architecture modulaire. Sur la base des param\u00e8tres choisis par l'utilisateur, un fichier de configuration est g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9, qui sert de script pour l'installation r\u00e9elle. Contrairement aux scripts d'installation pris en charge par bsdinstall, les fichiers de configuration du nouvel installateur ont une structure plus rigide et peuvent \u00eatre utilis\u00e9s pour cr\u00e9er des interfaces d'installation alternatives.
