Microsoft a annonc\u00e9 l\u2019ouverture des codes sources de la couche D3D9On12, qui impl\u00e9mente une interface de pilote de p\u00e9riph\u00e9rique (DDI, Device Driver Interface) permettant de transposer les commandes Direct3D 9 (D3D9) en commandes Direct3D 12 (D3D12). Cette couche permet aux anciennes applications de fonctionner dans des environnements ne supportant que D3D12, et pourrait s'av\u00e9rer utile pour l'impl\u00e9mentation de D3D9 dans des projets comme vkd3d et VKD3D-Proton, qui offrent une impl\u00e9mentation de Direct3D 12 pour Linux en traduisant les appels D3D12 vers l'API graphique Vulkan. Le code D3D9On12 est \u00e9crit en C++ et publi\u00e9 sous licence MIT. <\/p>\n

Le projet est bas\u00e9 sur le code d'un sous-syst\u00e8me similaire pr\u00e9sent dans Windows 10. Il est not\u00e9 que la publication du code D3D9On12 permettra aux membres de la communaut\u00e9 de participer \u00e0 la correction des erreurs et \u00e0 l\u2019ajout d\u2019optimisations, et pourra \u00e9galement servir d'exemple pour l'\u00e9tude de l'impl\u00e9mentation des pilotes DDI D3D9 ainsi que de cadre pour la cr\u00e9ation de telles couches pour la transposition de diverses API graphiques vers D3D12. <\/p>\n

Un paquet DXBC Signer a aussi \u00e9t\u00e9 publi\u00e9, permettant de signer des fichiers DXBC arbitraires g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9s par des outils tiers. D3D9On12 utilise ce paquet pour signer les DXBC g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9s lors de la transformation des shaders vers le nouveau mod\u00e8le.
