Il y a 30 ans, le premier lancement public du noyau Linux a eu lieu. Le noyau 0.01 avait une taille de 62 Ko une fois compress\u00e9, incluant 88 fichiers et comportant 10239 lignes de code. Selon Linus Torvalds, c'est effectivement le moment de la publication du noyau 0.01 qui marque le v\u00e9ritable anniversaire de 30 ans du projet. <\/p>\n

Linus a \u00e9crit sur la liste de diffusion des d\u00e9veloppeurs du noyau Linux : <\/p>\n

C'est juste une observation al\u00e9atoire pour que les gens sachent qu'aujourd'hui est en fait l'une des dates cl\u00e9s de ce 30\u00e8me anniversaire : la version 0.01 a \u00e9t\u00e9 t\u00e9l\u00e9charg\u00e9e le 17 septembre 1991. <\/p>\n

La sortie 0.01 n'a jamais \u00e9t\u00e9 annonc\u00e9e publiquement, et je ne l'ai rapport\u00e9e qu'\u00e0 une dizaine de personnes en priv\u00e9 (et je n'ai pas conserv\u00e9 les anciens emails de ces jours-l\u00e0), donc il n'y a pas d'enregistrements r\u00e9els \u00e0 ce sujet. Je soup\u00e7onne que la seule information sur la date se trouve dans le tar-file lui-m\u00eame de Linux-0.01. <\/p>\n

Malheureusement, les dates dans ce fichier tar — sont les dates des derni\u00e8res modifications, et non la date r\u00e9elle de cr\u00e9ation du fichier tar, mais il semble que cela ait eu lieu vers 19h30 (heure finlandaise), donc le v\u00e9ritable anniversaire \u00e9tait techniquement il y a quelques heures. <\/p>\n

J'ai pens\u00e9 qu'il valait la peine de le mentionner, car malgr\u00e9 le manque d'annonce, c'est en de nombreux sens la v\u00e9ritable date du 30\u00e8me anniversaire du code lui-m\u00eame. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n
