La vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 entra\u00eene la formation de cl\u00e9s RSA pr\u00e9visibles en raison d'un bug qui r\u00e9duit consid\u00e9rablement la qualit\u00e9 de l'entropie lors de la g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de s\u00e9quences al\u00e9atoires pour les cl\u00e9s. La vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 est survenue en raison de l'utilisation de la m\u00e9thode de formation de la cl\u00e9 d'appel «b.putByte(String.fromCharCode(next & 0xFF))», alors que la m\u00e9thode putByte appelait \u00e0 nouveau la m\u00e9thode fromCharCode. Cet appel double de fromCharCode («String.fromCharCode( String.fromCharCode(next & 0xFF) )») entra\u00eenait le remplissage de la majeure partie du tampon avec des z\u00e9ros, c'est-\u00e0-dire que la cl\u00e9 \u00e9tait g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9e \u00e0 partir de donn\u00e9es «al\u00e9atoires» compos\u00e9es \u00e0 97 % de z\u00e9ros.
