Le premier num\u00e9ro du projet elfshaker a \u00e9t\u00e9 publi\u00e9, d\u00e9veloppant un syst\u00e8me de gestion de versions pour les fichiers binaires, optimis\u00e9 pour le suivi des modifications dans les fichiers ex\u00e9cutables au format ELF. Le syst\u00e8me stocke des patchs binaires entre les fichiers, permettant d'extraire la version souhait\u00e9e par cl\u00e9, ce qui acc\u00e9l\u00e8re consid\u00e9rablement l'ex\u00e9cution de l'op\u00e9ration \u00ab git bisect \u00bb et r\u00e9duit fortement l'espace disque utilis\u00e9. Le code du projet est distribu\u00e9 sous la licence Apache-2.0. <\/p>\n

Le programme se distingue par son efficacit\u00e9 \u00e9lev\u00e9e dans le stockage des modifications binaires d'un grand nombre de fichiers binaires similaires, par exemple, obtenus lors des compilations incr\u00e9mentales d'un m\u00eame projet. En particulier, les r\u00e9sultats de deux mille reconstructions du compilateur Clang (chacune refl\u00e9tant un changement apr\u00e8s chaque commit) peuvent \u00eatre enregistr\u00e9s dans un fichier pack de 100 Mo, soit 4000 fois moins que ce qu'il faudrait en stockage s\u00e9par\u00e9. <\/p>\n

L'extraction de n'importe quel \u00e9tat \u00e0 partir de ce fichier prend 2 \u00e0 4 secondes (60 fois plus rapide que l'op\u00e9ration \u00ab git bisect \u00bb sur le code LLVM), ce qui permet d'extraire rapidement la version souhait\u00e9e des fichiers ex\u00e9cutables du projet sans recompiler \u00e0 partir des sources ou sans conserver une copie de chaque version pr\u00e9c\u00e9demment construite de l'ex\u00e9cutable.
