Apr\u00e8s plus de deux ans depuis la derni\u00e8re mise \u00e0 jour, une nouvelle version de la distribution LXLE Focal a \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9par\u00e9e, destin\u00e9e \u00e0 \u00eatre utilis\u00e9e sur des syst\u00e8mes obsol\u00e8tes. La distribution LXLE est bas\u00e9e sur les travaux d'Ubuntu MinimalCD et cherche \u00e0 fournir une solution l\u00e9g\u00e8re, alliant le support du mat\u00e9riel ancien \u00e0 un environnement utilisateur moderne. La n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 de cr\u00e9er une branche distincte est due au d\u00e9sir d'inclure des pilotes suppl\u00e9mentaires pour les anciens syst\u00e8mes et de revoir l'interface utilisateur. La taille de l'image ISO est de 1,8 Go. <\/p>\n

Pour naviguer sur le web, la distribution propose le navigateur LibreWolf (une reconstruction de Firefox avec des modifications visant \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 et la confidentialit\u00e9).<\/a>Pour la messagerie, uTox est inclus, et pour les emails, Claws Mail. Un gestionnaire de mise \u00e0 jour, uCareSystem, est utilis\u00e9 pour installer les mises \u00e0 jour, lanc\u00e9 par cron afin d'\u00e9liminer les processus en arri\u00e8re-plan inutiles. Par d\u00e9faut, le syst\u00e8me de fichiers Btrfs est propos\u00e9. L'environnement graphique est bas\u00e9 sur des composants LXDE, le gestionnaire de fen\u00eatres Compton, l'interface de lancement d'applications Fehlstart et des applications des projets LXQt, MATE et Linux Mint. <\/p>\n

Le contenu de la nouvelle version est synchronis\u00e9 avec la base de paquets de la branche LTS d'Ubuntu 20.04.4 (pr\u00e9c\u00e9demment Ubuntu 18.04). Les applications fournies par d\u00e9faut sont remplac\u00e9es : Arista par HandBrake, Pinta par GIMP, Pluma par Mousepad, Seamonkey par LibreWolf, Abiword\/Gnumeric par LibreOffice, Mirage par Viewnior, Linphone\/Pidgin par uTox. Inclus : le centre d'installation d'applications App Grid, le synth\u00e9tiseur audio Blanket, le configurateur Bluetooth, le client de messagerie Claws Mail, le lecteur RSS Liferea, l'utilitaire de sauvegarde GAdmin-Rsync, le programme pour configurer le partage de fichiers GAdmin-Samba, le planificateur Osmo, et l'interface pour optimiser la consommation d'\u00e9nergie TLP GUI. Pour la compression des informations dans la partition d'\u00e9change, Zswap est utilis\u00e9 au lieu de Zram. Une interface pour configurer les notifications contextuelles a \u00e9t\u00e9 ajout\u00e9e.
