Le code source est \u00e9crit en C++ et est distribu\u00e9 via (GitHub, GitFlic) sous licence GPLv3. L'interface graphique est construite sur la biblioth\u00e8que GTK 4. Elle est compatible avec les syst\u00e8mes d'exploitation Linux et Windows. Des paquets pr\u00e9compil\u00e9s sont disponibles pour Arch Linux (AUR) et les distributions bas\u00e9es sur la dixi\u00e8me plateforme Alt Linux.    <\/p>\n<p>Communist \u2014 un messager P2P simple, con\u00e7u pour fonctionner \u00e0 la fois sur Internet et dans des r\u00e9seaux locaux de configurations vari\u00e9es. Pour \u00e9tablir une connexion entre les utilisateurs, il utilise une combinaison de table de hachage distribu\u00e9e (version DHT utilis\u00e9e pour les clients torrent) et de la technique UDP hole punch (pour interagir avec les h\u00f4tes derri\u00e8re les translateurs d'adresses). Les protocoles IPv4 et IPv6 sont pris en charge. Toutes les donn\u00e9es sont stock\u00e9es sur la machine de l'utilisateur sous forme chiffr\u00e9e et sont \u00e9galement transmises de mani\u00e8re chiffr\u00e9e.
