L'ensemble se distingue par une r\u00e9duction significative de sa taille et ne conserve que le strict minimum n\u00e9cessaire pour compiler un module noyau \u00e9crit en Rust. <\/p>\n

On s'attend \u00e0 ce que ce patch minimal facilite l'adoption du support de Rust dans le noyau principal. Apr\u00e8s avoir assur\u00e9 un support minimum, il est pr\u00e9vu d'\u00e9tendre progressivement les fonctionnalit\u00e9s existantes en transf\u00e9rant d'autres modifications de la branche Rust-for-Linux. <\/p>\n

Compar\u00e9 \u00e0 la huiti\u00e8me version, la taille du patch a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9duite de 40 000 \u00e0 13 000 lignes de code. Par exemple, la neuvi\u00e8me version inclut seulement 3 % du code (500 lignes) du paquet crate \u00ab kernel \u00bb et 60 % de la biblioth\u00e8que alloc, permettant de cr\u00e9er les modules de noyau les plus simples, utilisant le type Vec et affichant des informations dans le journal du noyau \u00e0 l'aide du macro \u00ab pr_info! \u00bb.
