Comme motivation, il mentionne le plan de retirer ReiserFS du noyau principal d'ici 2025, la stagnation de l'assistance pour ce syst\u00e8me de fichiers et le manque de capacit\u00e9s de redondance offertes par les syst\u00e8mes de fichiers modernes pour prot\u00e9ger contre la corruption en cas de plantage ou de compromission.    <\/p>\n<p>Il est propos\u00e9 de supprimer imm\u00e9diatement le paquet reiserfs du d\u00e9p\u00f4t openSUSE Tumbleweed et de d\u00e9sactiver l'impl\u00e9mentation ReiserFS fonctionnant au niveau du noyau Linux. Pour ceux qui ont des partitions en ReiserFS pour acc\u00e9der aux donn\u00e9es, il est sugg\u00e9r\u00e9 d'utiliser le front-end FUSE pour reiserfs inclus dans GRUB. Fait int\u00e9ressant, en 2006, Jeff Mahoney avait \u00e9t\u00e9 l'initiateur de l'arr\u00eat de l'utilisation de ReiserFS par d\u00e9faut dans openSUSE.
