Une vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9tect\u00e9e dans le noyau Linux (CVE-2022-2590), permettant \u00e0 un utilisateur non privil\u00e9gi\u00e9 de modifier des fichiers refl\u00e9t\u00e9s en m\u00e9moire (mmap) et des fichiers dans tmpfs, sans avoir les droits d'\u00e9criture sur ceux-ci, et d'augmenter ses privil\u00e8ges dans le syst\u00e8me. Du point de vue de son type, le probl\u00e8me identifi\u00e9 rappelle la vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 Dirty COW, mais se distingue par le fait qu'il est uniquement limit\u00e9 \u00e0 l'impact sur les donn\u00e9es dans la m\u00e9moire partag\u00e9e (shmem \/ tmpfs). Ce probl\u00e8me peut \u00e9galement \u00eatre utilis\u00e9 pour modifier les fichiers ex\u00e9cutables en cours d'ex\u00e9cution utilisant la m\u00e9moire partag\u00e9e. <\/p>\n

Le probl\u00e8me est caus\u00e9 par une condition de comp\u00e9tition dans le sous-syst\u00e8me de gestion de la m\u00e9moire, qui se produit lors du traitement d'une exception (fault) g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9e par une tentative d'acc\u00e8s en \u00e9criture \u00e0 des zones accessibles uniquement en lecture dans la m\u00e9moire partag\u00e9e, refl\u00e9t\u00e9es en mode COW (copy-on-write mapping). Le probl\u00e8me appara\u00eet \u00e0 partir du noyau 5.16 sur les syst\u00e8mes avec architecture x86-64 et aarch64, lorsque le noyau est compil\u00e9 avec l'option CONFIG_USERFAULTFD=y. La vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 a \u00e9t\u00e9 corrig\u00e9e dans la version 5.19. Un exemple d'exploit sera publi\u00e9 le 15 ao\u00fbt.
