Le projet est d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 par un ancien mainteneur de BusyBox et distribu\u00e9 sous la licence 0BSD. L'objectif principal de Toybox est d'offrir aux fabricants la possibilit\u00e9 d'utiliser un ensemble minimaliste d'outils standard sans avoir \u00e0 r\u00e9v\u00e9ler le code source des composants modifi\u00e9s. En termes de fonctionnalit\u00e9s, Toybox est encore en retard par rapport \u00e0 BusyBox, mais il a d\u00e9j\u00e0 impl\u00e9ment\u00e9 306 commandes de base (227 enti\u00e8rement et 79 partiellement) sur les 378 pr\u00e9vues.        <\/p>\n<p>Parmi les nouveaut\u00e9s de Toybox 0.8.8, on peut noter :  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> L'utilitaire \u00ab timeout \u00bb a ajout\u00e9 l'option \u00ab -i \u00bb pour terminer la commande apr\u00e8s un certain temps d'inactivit\u00e9 (la sortie vers le flux standard r\u00e9initialise le minuteur).\n<li class=\"l\">  L'utilitaire \u00ab tar \u00bb a ajout\u00e9 la prise en charge de l'option \u00ab --xform \u00bb pour transformer les noms de fichiers \u00e0 l'aide d'une expression sed donn\u00e9e. La commande \u00ab tar --null \u00bb a \u00e9t\u00e9 impl\u00e9ment\u00e9e.\n<li class=\"l\"> Des \u00e9quivalents abr\u00e9g\u00e9s ont \u00e9t\u00e9 propos\u00e9s pour les options longues (par
