D\u00e9velopp\u00e9e depuis 2001, cette distribution suit le concept KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid) et est orient\u00e9e vers les utilisateurs exp\u00e9riment\u00e9s. L'objectif du projet est de cr\u00e9er une distribution simple et transparente pour les utilisateurs, reposant sur des scripts d'initialisation similaires \u00e0 ceux de BSD, avec une structure extr\u00eamement simplifi\u00e9e et un nombre relativement r\u00e9duit de paquets binaires pr\u00eats \u00e0 l'emploi. CRUX prend en charge un syst\u00e8me de ports qui facilite l'installation et la mise \u00e0 jour des applications dans le style de FreeBSD\/Gentoo. La taille de l'image iso pr\u00e9par\u00e9e pour l'architecture x86-64 est de 1,1 Go.    <\/p>\n<p>Dans ce nouveau lancement, les versions des composants syst\u00e8me ont \u00e9t\u00e9 mises \u00e0 jour, y compris le noyau Linux 5.15, glibc 2.36, gcc 12.2.0, binutils 2.39. Par d\u00e9faut, un environnement bas\u00e9 sur le serveur X (xorg-server 21.1.4, Mesa 22.2) est toujours fourni, mais la possibilit\u00e9 d'utiliser le protocole Wayland a \u00e9t\u00e9 ajout\u00e9e en option. L'image ISO est construite en repr\u00e9sentation hybride, adapt\u00e9e au d\u00e9marrage depuis des DVD et des cl\u00e9s USB.
