Le Mus\u00e9e de l'Histoire de l'Informatique a obtenu l'autorisation d'Adobe de publier le code source de l'une des premi\u00e8res impl\u00e9mentations de la technologie d'impression PostScript, lanc\u00e9e en 1984. La technologie PostScript est remarquable car la page \u00e0 imprimer est d\u00e9crite dans un langage de programmation sp\u00e9cial, et le document PostScript est un programme interpr\u00e9t\u00e9 lors de l'impression. <\/p>\n

Le code publi\u00e9 est \u00e9crit en langage C et est maintenant disponible au t\u00e9l\u00e9chargement (archive zip) sous la licence CHM Software License Agreement. L'impl\u00e9mentation inclut notamment le code de hinting des polices, qui a servi de base \u00e0 l'algorithme garantissant une haute qualit\u00e9 de rendu des polices \u00e0 diff\u00e9rentes r\u00e9solutions, longtemps consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme un secret commercial d'Adobe, r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 seulement en 2010.
