Les membres du comit\u00e9 technique qui g\u00e8re le d\u00e9veloppement d'Ubuntu ont approuv\u00e9 l'ajout de la distribution Ubuntu Cinnamon, qui propose l'environnement de bureau Cinnamon, parmi les \u00e9ditions officielles d'Ubuntu. \u00c0 ce stade, l'int\u00e9gration avec l'infrastructure d'Ubuntu a d\u00e9j\u00e0 commenc\u00e9 avec la cr\u00e9ation de versions tests d'Ubuntu Cinnamon et un travail est en cours pour organiser les tests dans le cadre du contr\u00f4le qualit\u00e9. Si aucun probl\u00e8me majeur n'est d\u00e9tect\u00e9, Ubuntu Cinnamon rejoindra le nombre des distributions officiellement propos\u00e9es \u00e0 partir de la version Ubuntu 23.04. <\/p>\n

L'environnement de bureau Cinnamon est d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 par la communaut\u00e9 des d\u00e9veloppeurs de la distribution Linux Mint et repr\u00e9sente un fork de l'interface GNOME Shell, du gestionnaire de fichiers Nautilus et du gestionnaire de fen\u00eatres Mutter, visant \u00e0 offrir un environnement de style classique GNOME 2 tout en int\u00e9grant certains \u00e9l\u00e9ments d'interaction r\u00e9ussis de GNOME Shell. Cinnamon est bas\u00e9 sur des composants GNOME, mais ces composants sont livr\u00e9s en tant que fork synchronis\u00e9 p\u00e9riodiquement, sans d\u00e9pendances externes avec GNOME. Parmi les applications tierces incluses dans l'\u00e9dition de base d'Ubuntu Cinnamon figurent LibreOffice, Thunderbird, Rhythmbox, GIMP, Celluloid, gThumb, GNOME Software et Timeshift.
