La soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Oracle a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 son intention de continuer \u00e0 maintenir la compatibilit\u00e9 avec Red Hat Enterprise Linux dans sa distribution Oracle Linux, malgr\u00e9 la restriction de Red Hat sur l'acc\u00e8s public au code source des paquets RHEL. La perte d'acc\u00e8s aux r\u00e9f\u00e9rentiels des codes sources augmente la probabilit\u00e9 de probl\u00e8mes de compatibilit\u00e9, mais Oracle est pr\u00eate \u00e0 r\u00e9soudre ces probl\u00e8mes s'ils affectent ses clients. Oracle accueille \u00e9galement la cr\u00e9ation de distributions d\u00e9riv\u00e9es, qu'elles soient publiques ou commerciales, et est pr\u00eate \u00e0 collaborer avec d'autres \u00e9diteurs de distributions pour faciliter le travail conjoint sur Oracle Linux et la certification des produits Oracle pour d'autres distributions. <\/p>\n

Oracle participe activement \u00e0 la communaut\u00e9 et contribue de mani\u00e8re significative au d\u00e9veloppement du noyau Linux, des syst\u00e8mes de fichiers et des outils, ce qui profite non seulement \u00e0 ses clients, mais \u00e0 tous les utilisateurs de Linux. <\/p>\n

La d\u00e9cision d'assurer la compatibilit\u00e9 d'Oracle Linux avec RHEL est avant tout motiv\u00e9e par le d\u00e9sir d'\u00e9viter une fragmentation excessive au sein de la communaut\u00e9 Linux. Le niveau de compatibilit\u00e9 atteint permet de certifier les logiciels Oracle pour RHEL, m\u00eame s'ils sont cr\u00e9\u00e9s et test\u00e9s uniquement dans Oracle Linux. Contrairement \u00e0 Red Hat, Oracle a toujours offert un acc\u00e8s gratuit aux versions compil\u00e9es et aux codes sources des paquets et s'engage \u00e0 maintenir cette pratique \u00e0 l'avenir, sans exiger de contrats suppl\u00e9mentaires que, selon Oracle, restreignent les droits des utilisateurs conf\u00e9r\u00e9s par la licence GPLv2.
