Th\u00e9oriquement, PortableGL peut \u00eatre utilis\u00e9 dans n'importe quelle application acceptant une texture ou un frame buffer comme entr\u00e9e. Le code est distribu\u00e9 sous la forme d'un seul fichier d'en-t\u00eate et est sous licence MIT.      <\/p>\n<p>Le projet a d\u00e9fini des objectifs tels que la portabilit\u00e9, la conformit\u00e9 \u00e0 l'API OpenGL, la facilit\u00e9 d'utilisation, un code simple et une haute performance. Les domaines d'application incluent l'apprentissage des concepts de construction des API graphiques, l'utilisation pour travailler avec la 3D sur des syst\u00e8mes sans GPU et l'int\u00e9gration d'un support d'OpenGL dans des syst\u00e8mes d'exploitation sp\u00e9cifiques pour lesquels le paquet Mesa3D n'a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 port\u00e9.
