Une nouvelle version de dd_rescue 1.99.17 est sortie, un outil pour r\u00e9cup\u00e9rer des donn\u00e9es \u00e0 partir de supports d\u00e9faillants, effectuer des sauvegardes et d\u00e9ployer des images de disque. Ne pas la confondre avec l'outil GNU ddrescue, qui, contrairement \u00e0 dd_rescue, offre des fonctionnalit\u00e9s suppl\u00e9mentaires utiles, telles que le support des fichiers sparses, l'entr\u00e9e\/sortie contournant le cache, ainsi qu'une compression et un chiffrement transparents. L'outil dd_rescue est inclus dans plusieurs distributions populaires de GNU\/Linux, telles que Fedora, openSUSE, Mageia et ALT Linux. Le code de l'outil est \u00e9crit en C et est distribu\u00e9 sous la licence GPLv2+. <\/p>\n

La nouvelle version ajoute le support de la compression et de la d\u00e9compression transparentes via l'algorithme LZMA, permettant notamment d'utiliser des images de disque compress\u00e9es au format xz. L'utilisation de l'algorithme LZMA d\u00e9montre un niveau de compression plus \u00e9lev\u00e9, au prix d'une charge accrue sur le CPU, par rapport \u00e0 l'algorithme LZO pr\u00e9c\u00e9demment utilis\u00e9. La biblioth\u00e8que liblzma a \u00e9t\u00e9 choisie pour impl\u00e9menter l'algorithme LZMA, qui est devenu tristement c\u00e9l\u00e8bre apr\u00e8s qu'une vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 y a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9couverte, due \u00e0 un intrus ayant obtenu le statut de mainteneur. Le patch impl\u00e9mentant le support de LZMA dans dd_rescue a \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9par\u00e9 par Dmitri Ivanov de la HSE (\u00c9cole sup\u00e9rieure d'\u00e9conomie).
