Un changement a \u00e9t\u00e9 apport\u00e9 \u00e0 la base de code de GCC, utilis\u00e9e pour former la branche GCC 15, d\u00e9classant le support de l'ABI ARM64 ILP32 (-mabi=ilp32). ILP32 ressemble \u00e0 la sous-architecture x32 pour les syst\u00e8mes x86_64 et permet \u00e9galement d'utiliser des pointeurs 32 bits et un mod\u00e8le d'adressage m\u00e9moire 32 bits, tout en fonctionnant sur un processeur en mode 64 bits avec prise en charge des registres 64 bits et des instructions \u00e9tendues. La contrainte de l'ABI ILP32 est l'incapacit\u00e9 d'adresser plus de 4 Go de m\u00e9moire \u00e0 partir d'une application. <\/p>\n

\u00c0 l'origine, l'ABI ILP32 a \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7u pour faciliter le transfert d'applications 32 bits vers des processeurs 64 bits AArch64, mais il n'a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 largement adopt\u00e9. Le support de ILP32 n'a jamais \u00e9t\u00e9 int\u00e9gr\u00e9 dans le noyau Linux ni dans la biblioth\u00e8que syst\u00e8me Glibc. Des portages distincts ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9velopp\u00e9s pour Linaro et Debian concernant ILP32, mais ils sont dans un \u00e9tat abandonn\u00e9 depuis plus de cinq ans. Parmi les rares syst\u00e8mes supportant ILP32, on note le syst\u00e8me d'exploitation watchOS, utilis\u00e9 sur les appareils Apple Watch, mais GCC n'est pas pris en charge sur cet OS.
