Au milieu de l'ann\u00e9e 2023, Intel a annonc\u00e9 l'initiative x86S<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 une simplification de l'x86. L'initiative consistait \u00e0 supprimer compl\u00e8tement le mode r\u00e9el, \u00e0 retirer les instructions 16 bits du mode prot\u00e9g\u00e9\/long et \u00e0 supprimer partiellement les instructions 32 bits (les instructions 32 bits pour le mode utilisateur ont \u00e9t\u00e9 conserv\u00e9es \u2014 seules les instructions syst\u00e8me ont \u00e9t\u00e9 supprim\u00e9es).<\/p>\n
