Ubuntu a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de fournir par d\u00e9faut le paquet intel-compute-runtime, compil\u00e9 avec le flag NEO_DISABLE_MITIGATIONS, d\u00e9sactivant la protection contre les attaques de type Spectre. Selon les d\u00e9veloppeurs d'Ubuntu, la pr\u00e9sence d'une telle protection r\u00e9duit la performance du paquet d'environ 20%. <\/p>\n

Le paquet intel-compute-runtime inclut les composants n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 l'utilisation d'OpenCL et d'OneAPI Level Zero sur les syst\u00e8mes \u00e9quip\u00e9s de GPU Intel. Lors de la construction des biblioth\u00e8ques fournies dans le paquet, la pr\u00e9sence du drapeau de compilation NEO_DISABLE_MITIGATIONS entra\u00eene la d\u00e9sactivation dans le compilateur des options \u00ab -mretpoline -mindirect-branch=thunk -mfunction-return=thunk -mindirect-branch-register \u00bb, qui fournissent une protection suppl\u00e9mentaire contre Spectre.
