L'organisation \u00e0 but non lucratif Rust Foundation, d\u00e9di\u00e9e au d\u00e9veloppement et au soutien du langage Rust ainsi que de son \u00e9cosyst\u00e8me, a lanc\u00e9 l'initiative Rust Innovation Lab, visant \u00e0 fournir un soutien aux projets open source d\u00e9velopp\u00e9s en Rust et utilis\u00e9s pour assurer le fonctionnement d'\u00e9l\u00e9ments d'infrastructure critiques. Cette initiative permettra aux projets de b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier d'un accompagnement financier, juridique et marketing, ainsi que d'un soutien administratif et d'aide \u00e0 la gestion de projet. <\/p>\n

Rust Innovation Lab offrira aux projets Rust les ressources n\u00e9cessaires pour d\u00e9velopper leurs id\u00e9es sans se distraire par des t\u00e2ches non li\u00e9es au d\u00e9veloppement et en pr\u00e9servant leur ind\u00e9pendance. Parmi d'autres initiatives, cette initiative permettra d'organiser la r\u00e9ception de dons et de collaborer avec des sponsors au nom de l'organisation \u00e0 but non lucratif Rust Foundation pour offrir des avantages fiscaux. Ainsi, les projets n'auront pas besoin de cr\u00e9er une entit\u00e9 juridique propre, d'ouvrir un compte bancaire ou de g\u00e9rer une comptabilit\u00e9 fiscale. La Rust Foundation se chargera de la comptabilit\u00e9 et fournira les rapports n\u00e9cessaires pour les sponsors et les participants au projet. <\/p>\n

Le premier projet accept\u00e9 dans Rust Innovation Lab est la biblioth\u00e8que cryptographique Rustls, offrant une impl\u00e9mentation client et serveur des protocoles TLS1.2 et TLS1.3 pour les projets en Rust. Rustls ne fournit pas sa propre impl\u00e9mentation des primitives cryptographiques, mais utilise des fournisseurs de fonctions cryptographiques modulaires (les algorithmes ECDSA, Ed25519, RSA, ChaCha20-Poly1305, AES128-GCM et AES256-GCM sont pris en charge). Par d\u00e9faut, Rustls utilise un fournisseur de cryptographie bas\u00e9 sur la biblioth\u00e8que aws-lc-rs, d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e par Amazon et bas\u00e9e sur le code C++ d'AWS-LC, d\u00e9riv\u00e9 du projet BoringSSL (maintenu comme un fork d'OpenSSL par Google).
