La construction est r\u00e9alis\u00e9e par le compilateur Clang. Des images Live-boot sont disponibles pour les architectures x86_64, ppc64le, aarch64, riscv64 et ppc64 en options avec GNOME (1,8 Go), KDE (2,5 Go) et un environnement all\u00e9g\u00e9 (1 Go).        <\/p>\n<p>Le projet vise \u00e0 cr\u00e9er une distribution Linux avec des outils alternatifs et se d\u00e9veloppe en tenant compte de l'exp\u00e9rience de d\u00e9veloppement de Void Linux (l'auteur de Chimera \u00e9tant un ancien mainteneur de Void, responsable des architectures POWER et PowerPC). Comme Void Linux, le projet \u00e9volue selon un cycle de mise \u00e0 jour continue des versions de logiciels (mod\u00e8le rolling). Les composants utilisateurs de FreeBSD ont \u00e9t\u00e9 choisis pour leur simplicit\u00e9 et leur ad\u00e9quation avec des syst\u00e8mes l\u00e9gers et compacts, par rapport aux outils GNU standards.     <\/p>\n<p>Outre les utilitaires de FreeBSD, fournis \u00e0 la place de paquets tels que coreutils, findutils, diffutils, sed et grep, la distribution utilise GNU Make, util-linux, syslog-ng, udev, pam, dinit, clang, lld, libc++ et musl. Les fonctions d'allocation de m\u00e9moire dans musl ont \u00e9t\u00e9 remplac\u00e9es par mimalloc. Le syst\u00e8me de fichiers utilis\u00e9 est ZFS. La partition \/var ne conserve pas son \u00e9tat entre les red\u00e9marrages (sans \u00e9tat). Pour g\u00e9rer les flux multim\u00e9dias, PipeWire est utilis\u00e9. Dans les environnements graphiques, Wayland est utilis\u00e9 par d\u00e9faut.     <\/p>\n<p>Pour installer des programmes suppl\u00e9mentaires, il existe \u00e0 la fois des paquets binaires et un syst\u00e8me de cr\u00e9ation \u00e0 partir des sources appel\u00e9 cports, \u00e9crit en Python. Actuellement, plus de 4000 ports sont pris en charge. L'environnement de compilation s'ex\u00e9cute dans un conteneur non privil\u00e9gi\u00e9, cr\u00e9\u00e9 \u00e0 l'aide de l'outil bubblewrap. Pour g\u00e9rer les paquets binaires, le gestionnaire de paquets APK (Alpine Package Keeper, apk-tools) est utilis\u00e9, et Flatpak peut \u00eatre utilis\u00e9 en option.      <\/p>\n<p>Dans cette nouvelle version :  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Un installateur de console exp\u00e9rimental a \u00e9t\u00e9 ajout\u00e9, lanc\u00e9 par la commande chimera-installer apr\u00e8s le d\u00e9marrage en mode Live. L'installateur prend en charge l'installation locale et distante, le choix du miroir du d\u00e9p\u00f4t APK, les configurations de base (d\u00e9finition du nom d'h\u00f4te, du fuseau horaire, du mot de passe root et cr\u00e9ation d'un compte utilisateur), l'installation de packages suppl\u00e9mentaires, le choix de la version du noyau et la configuration du chargeur de d\u00e9marrage (GRUB et systemd-boot). La partition et le formatage des partitions de disque ne sont pas encore pris en charge (la partition, le formatage et le montage doivent \u00eatre effectu\u00e9s manuellement avant de lancer l'installateur).\n<li class=\"l\"> Le noyau Linux 6.18 est utilis\u00e9. Les versions des programmes ont \u00e9t\u00e9 mises \u00e0 jour, par exemple, GNOME 49.1, KDE Plasma 6.5.4, enlightenment 0.27.1, icewm 3.8.2, chromium 143, clang 21.1.4, docker 28.3.2, ffmpeg 8.0, flatpak 1.16.1, gtk 4.20.2, musl 1.2.5, python 3.13.9, pipewire 1.4.9.\n<li class=\"l\"> L'importation automatique des pools LVM et ZFS a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9sactiv\u00e9e dans les images Live, ce
