Galen Hunt, directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de Microsoft Azure Sphere et ancien responsable du groupe de d\u00e9veloppement des syst\u00e8mes d'exploitation au sein de Microsoft Research, a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 un projet de recherche visant \u00e0 cr\u00e9er des outils combinant l'IA avec des algorithmes traditionnels pour la r\u00e9\u00e9criture automatis\u00e9e des plus grandes bases de code de Microsoft dans le langage Rust. L'objectif du projet est d'\u00e9liminer compl\u00e8tement les langages C et C++ des bases de code de Microsoft d'ici 2030. La mission \u00e9voque l'\u00e9limination de la dette technique dans des projets \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle. Il est not\u00e9 que l'infrastructure en d\u00e9veloppement pour le traitement du code est con\u00e7ue pour permettre \u00e0 un ing\u00e9nieur de traduire un million de lignes de code en un mois. Le projet se d\u00e9veloppe au sein de Microsoft CoreAI.
