L'\u00e9quipe de mainteneurs Debian avait initialement pr\u00e9vu de supprimer la couche de compatibilit\u00e9 systemd-sysv-generator dans Debian 13 (Trixie), mais la d\u00e9cision a \u00e9t\u00e9 report\u00e9e \u00e0 la prochaine version (Debian 14). Deux ans se sont \u00e9coul\u00e9s, et la transition compl\u00e8te vers les services unitaires systemd est pr\u00e9vue d'ici la fin f\u00e9vrier 2026. Ce changement est justifi\u00e9 par une s\u00e9curit\u00e9 accrue des services systemd lanc\u00e9s, ainsi qu'un contr\u00f4le plus fiable sur le d\u00e9marrage et le cycle de vie du service. De plus, le projet systemd a pr\u00e9c\u00e9demment annonc\u00e9 sa d\u00e9cision de supprimer dans la version systemd 260 le support des scripts de service au format System V et d'arr\u00eater la livraison des composants systemd-sysv-install, systemd-rc-local-generator et systemd-sysv-generator.
