Linus Torvalds a refus\u00e9 d'accepter un ensemble de modifications destin\u00e9 au noyau 7.0 de la part du mainteneur du sous-syst\u00e8me MMC (MultiMedia Card), qualifiant le patch envoy\u00e9, qui ne se compile m\u00eame pas, de \u00ab d\u00e9chet total \u00bb (complete garbage). Selon lui, les modifications n'avaient pas \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9alablement test\u00e9es dans la branche linux-next et n'avaient pas subi de tests de compilation. <\/p>\n

La compilation \u00e9chouait en raison d'une red\u00e9finition de variable. Un tel niveau de qualit\u00e9 de code a exasp\u00e9r\u00e9 Linus, qui a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 qu'il n'accepterait pas les modifications du mainteneur du sous-syst\u00e8me MMC dans le cycle de pr\u00e9paration du noyau 7.0, m\u00eame s'il recevait une demande de tirage corrig\u00e9e. Les modifications pour la MMC seront accept\u00e9es dans la branche 7.1 uniquement si elles sont v\u00e9rifi\u00e9es dans la branche linux-next et correctement test\u00e9es. Linus a recommand\u00e9 avec insistance de ne pas lui envoyer de d\u00e9chets non test\u00e9s (\u00ab untested crap \u00bb), mais de d'abord int\u00e9grer les modifications dans la branche Linux-Next pour v\u00e9rifier le code.
