C'est vendredi apr\u00e8s tout.<br \/>\n<noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" name=\"habracut\"><\/a><\/noindex><br \/>\nLors des entretiens, des questions ennuyeuses sur les inodes apparaissent souvent, des questions auxquelles peu de gens peuvent r\u00e9pondre de mani\u00e8re sens\u00e9e. Mais si l'on creuse un peu, on peut trouver des choses int\u00e9ressantes. <\/p>\n<p>Pour comprendre le post, quelques points :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>tout est fichier. un r\u00e9pertoire est aussi un fichier. <\/li>\n<li>dans l'inode, les m\u00e9tadonn\u00e9es du fichier sont stock\u00e9es, mais le nom du fichier n'est pas stock\u00e9 l\u00e0. <\/li>\n<li>le nom du fichier est stock\u00e9 dans les donn\u00e9es du r\u00e9pertoire. <\/li>\n<li>la taille du r\u00e9pertoire, celle qui est affich\u00e9e dans ls et par d\u00e9faut 4 Ko, d\u00e9pend du nombre de fichiers dans le r\u00e9pertoire et de la longueur de leurs noms. <\/li>\n<li>Il est \u00e9vident que plus il y a de fichiers, plus la taille du r\u00e9pertoire est grande.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\nEt maintenant, ce qui est int\u00e9ressant : cr\u00e9ons un r\u00e9pertoire avec un million de fichiers, v\u00e9rifions la taille du r\u00e9pertoire, puis supprimons tous les fichiers et regardons la taille du r\u00e9pertoire.<\/p>\n<pre><code class=\"bash\">$ mkdir niceDir &amp;&amp; cd niceDir\n# Selon la vitesse du support, la commande suivante peut prendre 2 \u00e0 10 minutes\n$ for ((i=1;i&lt;133700;i++)); do touch long_long_looong_man_sakeru_$i ; done\n$ ls -lhd .\ndrwxr-xr-x 2 user user 8.1M 2 ao\u00fbt 13:37 .\n$ find . -type f -delete\n$ ls -l\ntotal 0\n$ ls -lhd .\ndrwxr-xr-x 2 user user 8.1M 2 ao\u00fbt 13:37 .<\/code><\/pre>\n<p>\nComme on peut le voir, la taille du r\u00e9pertoire n'a pas chang\u00e9, bien que cela semble paradoxal \ud83d\ude42.<\/p>\n<p>R\u00e9parer la taille du r\u00e9pertoire (sans supprimer) ne peut se faire qu'avec fsck (et l'option -D) dans un \u00e9tat d\u00e9mont\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Et quand j'ai cherch\u00e9 pourquoi cela se produisait, j'ai d\u00e9couvert que ce comportement avait d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9t\u00e9 rapport\u00e9 il y a 10 ans <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/lkml.org\/lkml\/2009\/5\/15\/146\">a \u00e9t\u00e9 discut\u00e9e<\/a><\/noindex> dans lkml.
