Pour le syst\u00e8me de fichiers btrfs introduit<\/a><\/noindex> une mise en \u0153uvre asynchrone de l'op\u00e9ration DISCARD (marquage des blocs lib\u00e9r\u00e9s qui ne doivent plus \u00eatre stock\u00e9s physiquement), r\u00e9alis\u00e9e par les ing\u00e9nieurs de Facebook.<\/p>\n

Le probl\u00e8me r\u00e9side dans le fait que dans l'impl\u00e9mentation originale, le DISCARD s'ex\u00e9cute de mani\u00e8re synchrone avec d'autres op\u00e9rations, ce qui peut entra\u00eener des probl\u00e8mes de performance, car il faut attendre la fin des commandes correspondantes des unit\u00e9s de stockage, ce qui prend un temps suppl\u00e9mentaire. Cela peut devenir un probl\u00e8me si l'impl\u00e9mentation du DISCARD par l'unit\u00e9 de stockage fonctionne lentement. <\/p>\n

Avec l'impl\u00e9mentation asynchrone, il n'est pas n\u00e9cessaire d'attendre l'ach\u00e8vement du DISCARD par l'unit\u00e9 de stockage pendant le fonctionnement normal du FS, ce qui \u00e9limine ce probl\u00e8me et fait de cette op\u00e9ration une t\u00e2che en arri\u00e8re-plan. L'impl\u00e9mentation propos\u00e9e inclut \u00e9galement certaines optimisations.
