L'objectif est de simplifier la communication et le partage de contenu entre les d\u00e9veloppeurs de la distribution.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Debian<\/strong> \u2014 un syst\u00e8me d'exploitation compos\u00e9 de logiciels libres avec un code source ouvert. \u00c0 l'heure actuelle <strong>Debian GNU\/Linux<\/strong> \u2014 l'une des distributions GNU\/Linux les plus populaires et importantes, qui a eu un impact significatif sur le d\u00e9veloppement de ce type de syst\u00e8mes d'exploitation dans sa forme initiale. Il existe \u00e9galement des projets bas\u00e9s sur un autre noyau : <strong>Debian GNU\/Hurd<\/strong>. Debian peut \u00eatre utilis\u00e9 comme syst\u00e8me d'exploitation tant pour les serveurs que pour les stations de travail.<\/p>\n<p>Debian poss\u00e8de le plus grand d\u00e9p\u00f4t de paquets parmi toutes les distributions \u2014 des programmes et biblioth\u00e8ques pr\u00eats \u00e0 l'emploi \u2014 et m\u00eame si ce n'est pas en nombre, mais en nombre d'architectures prises en charge : allant de l'ARM, utilis\u00e9e dans les appareils embarqu\u00e9s, aux x86-64 et PowerPC les plus populaires, et allant jusqu'\u00e0 l'IBM S\/390, utilis\u00e9e dans les mainframes. Diff\u00e9rents outils ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9velopp\u00e9s pour travailler avec le d\u00e9p\u00f4t, le plus populaire \u00e9tant l'Advanced Packaging Tool (APT).<\/p>\n<p>Debian est devenu la base d'un certain nombre de distributions.
