Apr\u00e8s presque cinq ans depuis la derni\u00e8re version, le test alpha de la distribution Slackware 15.0 a d\u00e9but\u00e9. Le projet est en d\u00e9veloppement depuis 1993 et est la plus ancienne des distributions encore existantes. Ses caract\u00e9ristiques incluent l'absence de complications et un simple syst\u00e8me d'initialisation dans le style des syst\u00e8mes BSD classiques, ce qui rend Slackware int\u00e9ressant pour \u00e9tudier le fonctionnement des syst\u00e8mes de type Unix, mener des exp\u00e9riences et d\u00e9couvrir Linux. Une image d'installation de 3,1 Go (x86_64) a \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9par\u00e9e pour le t\u00e9l\u00e9chargement, ainsi qu'une version pour un mode Live. <\/p>\n

La nouvelle branche se distingue par la mise \u00e0 jour de la biblioth\u00e8que syst\u00e8me Glibc vers la version 2.33 et l'utilisation du noyau Linux 5.10. \u00c0 quelques exceptions pr\u00e8s, les autres paquets ont \u00e9t\u00e9 transf\u00e9r\u00e9s de la branche Current et recompil\u00e9s avec le nouveau Glibc. Par exemple, la recompilation de firefox, thunderbird et seamonkey a \u00e9t\u00e9 report\u00e9e, car des patchs suppl\u00e9mentaires sont n\u00e9cessaires pour assurer la compatibilit\u00e9 avec le nouveau compilateur Rust utilis\u00e9 dans la distribution.
