Ma ma today announced processor Lunar Lake will be the new flagship solution from Intel for thin laptops. It is based on new P-cores Lion Cove and E-cores Skymont. The latter has undergone significant changes — their overall performance compared to previous similar-class cores used in Meteor Lake has nearly doubled. P-cores Lion Cove have received a significant number of improvements in microarchitecture, but E-cores Skymont are true stars even in comparison. Compared to the previous generation of E-cores Crestmont (used in Meteor Lake), IPC in integer tasks has increased by 38%, while in floating-point algorithms, it has risen by 68%. Additionally, Intel has doubled the performance of Skymont in vector workloads using AVX and VNNI instructions.
