Kibővített információk jelentek meg a Loongson 3B6600-ról

A Loongson Industrial Ecosystem Conference held biannually with investors, the president and chairman of the board, Hu Weiwu, revealed plans for 2025. These include the release of three lines of processors targeting different segments: mobile, desktop, and server. The first half of the year will see the completion of production capacity startup, and in the second half, the processors will enter mass production.

The processors will be manufactured using 7-nanometer technology. The desktop line will feature the 3B6600 with eight LA864 cores clocked at 3 GHz, along with integrated graphics LG200, and a more powerful model, the 3B7000, with a frequency of 3.5 GHz. According to Hu Weiwu, in single-thread mode, the processor will match the computing power of Intel's 12th and 13th generation processors.

The company plans to release at least one desktop and one server chip each year and aims to transition to a processor production cycle known as ‘tick-tock’. Additionally, the production of GPU solutions and SoCs/MCUs will continue.

It is worth noting that Loongson processors are one of the supported architectures in Linux – LoongArch. An unofficial release ('port') of the Debian distribution is being developed for this architecture. Among domestic distributions, support for Loongson was planned to be implemented in AltLinux — in particular, the advisor to the general director of 'Basalt SPRO', Alexey Novodvorsky, said: kijelentette ‘In the first quarter of 2024, we plan to release OS distribution 'Alt' p11, including distributions for the LoongArch platform.’
