A Linux Foundation műszaki bizottsága hivatalosan bejelentette a BсacheFS szerzőjének ideiglenes felfüggesztését.

A Linux Foundation Technical Advisory Board announced the restriction of Kent Overstreet, the author of BcacheFS, from participating in kernel development by banning the acceptance of pull requests during the release cycle of 6.13. The decision was made based on a recommendation from the committee responsible for upholding the code of conduct in the Linux kernel development community (CoC Committee). It was confirmed that the reason for the suspension was an insult directed at Michal Hocko without subsequent confirmation of his ability to further participate in technical discussions without personal attacks.

In response, Kent Overstreet published a copy of a personal letter he sent to Michal Hocko in September, two days after the offensive message. In the letter, Kent apologized to Michal and explained the internal motivations that led to his outburst (the drive to get things working and a painful reaction to the neglect of issues causing improper functioning). Kent also mentioned general thoughts on community interaction, intersecting with yesterday’s publication.
