A «ЮKassa» payment service expert (part of «ЮMoney») and the virtual mobile operator «СберМобайл» have identified which smartphone brands are most popular among Russian consumers. The lineup of the top five remained the same over the past year, but the positions have changed.
The manufacturer of the most popular smartphones in Russia became Apple, which climbed from third place to first, stripping Xiaomi of its leader status — the Chinese manufacturer came in second, while Samsung ranked third. Huawei smartphones became the fourth most popular in Russia, with Realme in fifth; there have been no changes in this segment since last year.
Notably, Russian preferences depend on age: consumers aged 18 to 35 tend to choose Apple products more often, while buyers over 35 prefer Xiaomi products. Demand for electronics in Russia is rising, according to «ЮKassa» — this segment remains one of the fastest growing in the market. Last winter, turnover in this category increased by 83% year-on-year; the number of transactions has doubled.
At the same time, the average check decreased by 11% and reached 17,133 rubles. Experts believe this effect is caused by electronics sales, although in general, buyers have started to choose items with more modest price tags more frequently.
