Nate Graham, a developer involved in quality control for the KDE project, has published another development report for KDE. The most notable changes being developed for the release of KDE Plasma 6.5:
- Added support for the experimental Wayland protocol xdg-pip (picture-in-picture), which allows for the correct display of always-visible floating multimedia content windows, such as the picture-in-picture window in Firefox. The code to support the xdg-pip protocol was recently added to the Firefox codebase, which forms the basis for release 141.
- In the configuration settings, the inversion and scaling options have been moved to the ‘Accessibility’ page, where they are more appropriate than on the desktop effects page.
- In the screenshot program Spectacle, a hint has been added about the ability to end the screencast recording by pressing the key combination used to start recording.
