Barry Kauler, a founder of Puppy Linux, published the EasyOS 7.0 distribution, combining Puppy Linux technologies with container isolation for running system components. The distribution is managed through a set of graphical configurators developed by the project. The size of the boot image is 1 GB.

Changes in EasyOS 7.0 include:
- A new toolkit WoofQ2, based on the APT package manager from the Debian project, is used to build the distribution. The graphical interface to the PKGget package manager has been reworked into a wrapper over APT.
- Instead of OpenEmbedded packages, packages from the Devuan 13 distribution (Debian 13 without systemd) are used with the busybox init initialization system, extended by the service management mechanism pup_event.
- A preconfigured container 'devx', which includes a set of tools for application development, is added and can be launched with a single click.
- The base package includes the SpaceFM file manager and the SeaMonkey browser.
- A new applet with a system tray has been proposed.
