Andrej Sitov, a renowned Perl developer, decided this year to try as many programming languages as possible and share his experiences with readers.
Programming languages are wonderful! You fall in love with a language as soon as you write a few test programs. The more you study, the better you feel the language itself and the ideas embedded in its foundation.
In this year's Christmas calendar (from December 1 to 24), I will publish daily articles telling about the basics of various programming languages: one day — one language. To make the reviews more useful, I will try to stick to a uniform format and cover the aspects of the language necessary for writing the following mini-projects:
- Hello, World!
- A function that calculates the factorial recursively or in a functional style
- A program that creates an array of objects and performs polymorphic method calls on them
- An implementation of sleep sort. This algorithm is not used in real-world situations, but it wonderfully demonstrates the capabilities of the language in terms of concurrency
List of languages:
- Day 1. TypeScript
- Day 2. Rust
- Day 3. Julia
