A Purism project team announced a compact form-factor desktop computer, the Librem Mini, featuring an Intel hardware platform and a Linux-based operating system.

The device is housed in a chassis measuring just 128 × 128 × 38 mm. It is powered by an Intel Core i7-8565U processor from the Whiskey Lake generation, which includes four computational cores capable of processing up to eight instruction threads. The base clock speed is 1.8 GHz, with a maximum of 4.6 GHz. The chip also includes an Intel UHD 620 graphics accelerator.

The DDR4-2400 RAM capacity can reach up to 64 GB: two SO-DIMM slots are available for installing the corresponding modules. There is a SATA 3.0 port for a 2.5-inch drive, and an M.2 solid-state module can also be used.
A Gigabit Ethernet LAN controller is included. Optionally, Wi-Fi 802.11n and Bluetooth 4.0 wireless adapters can be installed.

The set of ports includes one HDMI 2.0 interface and one DisplayPort 1.2, four USB 3.0 ports, and two USB 2.0 ports, as well as a symmetrical USB Type-C port. The device weighs approximately 1 kg.
The computer will come with the PureOS Linux platform. The price will start from $700.
