A Fedora project management board published a statement regarding Richard Stallman's return to the board of the Free Software Foundation. The statement emphasizes that Fedora promotes an inclusive, open, and friendly community that does not tolerate harassing behavior, bullying, or any other forms of abuse in communication. It further states that the Fedora management board is shocked that the Free Software Foundation has allowed Stallman to return, given his past statements (note: Stallman and his supporters reject the arguments from opponents, considering the attacks to be baseless bullying and pointing out that the attacks manipulate out-of-context, distorted, and misinterpreted statements or falsely attribute opinions that Stallman does not share).
As long as Stallman is involved in the management of the Free Software Foundation, the Fedora project has ceased any interaction with this organization, including stopping financial support and participation in events organized by the Free Software Foundation or those where Stallman is a speaker. Similar actions will also be taken regarding all organizations where Stallman holds a leadership position (Stallman remains the project leader of GNU). Previously, a similar position was stated by Red Hat, which oversees the Fedora Linux developer community.
Additionally, it can be noted that the number of signatories supporting Stallman has reached 5,215, while the letter opposing Stallman has garnered 3,013 signatures.
